Volunteers come in all sizes and shapes. The Cubs Scouts from Pack 7, Den 7, approached the Village Board in April of this year with some project ideas involving Russell & Remington Parks. The scouts are learning about good citizenship and environmental conservation towards the Cub Scout World Conservation Award. The Remington Park project started April 14th. The Russell Park project was started April 16th with trail work continuing. The scouts have some additional work to do at each as they were held up by the weather.
The Remington Park project involved: brush removal, leaf cleanup, erecting both bird feeders and houses, park bench staining, putting in an addition flower bed, and planting flowers. The Russell Park project involved: repair of a busted park bench, marking the Horseshoe Trail for easier navigation, and erecting wooden bird houses.
Pack 7, Den 7 is sponsored by the Barringer Road PTO. Please note that some additional associates (i.e. family siblings) are featured in the visuals as we encourage all to participate whether they are boy or girl. The pack is under the leadership of Clint Mack. Additional photos can be found in the photo gallery on this website.
